Okay, now for the good and the bad news about Earth4Energy.

I honestly didn't quite know what to expect when I started my researching my this review. Although I'd heard a little about the product from colleagues and in the media, frankly I knew nothing about it. All I knew was that it had (apparently) been quite a popular package that has been around for some time.

Reducing electricity bills is a subject that always seems to be on people's minds and I'm no exception given I've had more than a basic interest in home solar and wind power for quite a few years.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, as the case may be) I'm always the skeptic and before seeing the product I thought frankly that the package seemed to be priced "way too cheaply" for what it promised. I expected that my Earth4Energy review might contain a few "harsh realities".

As things turned out this was true. Let me elaborate; quite simply, I was a little bit surprised at the content of Earth4Energy. Clearly, a lot of time and effort has gone into producing this package and I found the amount of content which you get for your money to be really good. Earth4Energy is a comprehensive package comprising a well written reference guide and step by step video tutorials.

Commercial solar and wind power systems are often very expensive and tend to be well beyond the means of a lot of people. Earth4Energy helps solve this problem by providing a full set of plans for building, installing and optimizing your own solar panel and wind power generation systems at a fraction of the cost of factory equivalents. Earth4Energy was designed and written so that anyone including beginners can build their projects.

Earth4Energy gives you a facility which helps you "shop" for parts. This handy parts and resources guide assists you in obtaining everything you need for the accompanying projects. Of course, you've got complete control over the quality of the parts but personally I sometimes find it false economy to buy cheap second hand components. I agree with the basic philosophy of the manual in the benefits of sourcing reliable parts to ensure you get good build quality to ensure long service life. Your projects need to last a long time so they therefore need to be durable and weather proof.

The Earth4Energy system is easy to follow. It contains photos, diagrams and wiring guides which always helps to make the job a lot more easier and straightforward. Also included is information and tips on using energy wisely as well as a useful solar calculator program which helps you to assess your particular energy needs as an initial step in putting your project together. Sales tax rebate forms have also been provided. Free lifetimes updates are also included in the package.

It's nice for a change to see a product that emphasizes the fun aspect of making alternative energy too.

All of these things considered, in my opinion I found that the Earth4Energy package represents excellent value and content for money.

I think that it's a comprehensive, good value for money product which I found quite easy to follow. I can see that it's possible to use it to build a genuine asset that will add value to your house.

That concludes my Earth4Energy review. From my perspective I would recommend this package IF it weren't for the fact that there are in fact better options around.

I would strongly advise any prospective buyer to check out competing products first, in particular the GreenDIYEnergy package reviewed here, elsewhere on this website. In my opinion, GreenDIYEnergy is the superior choice and by all accounts sales have overtaken Earth4Energy in sales volumes quite dramatically of late (as of October 2010 anyway).

As far as Earth4Energy is concerned though it does seem to be a nice, solid producti and, again in my opinion it's ideal for anyone who wants a popular methodology to build their own solar energy and wind power generation plant in a rudimentary way only. I'd like to see a little more depth.

It's worth considering but do remember there are better options around in the same price bracket.
